I do not think art is a waste of time. Many of the TED talks showed ways we can use art in meaningful ways. Since I am comparing “Is it OK to Make Art?” with “How Can We Address Centuries of Racism in Art?’ I will just mention how Titus Kaphar feels. Obviously Kaphar believes are is important, and that we can use it in ways to help people better understand our history. It has been mentioned a lot but I do believe that art has a special way of changing our experiences to things. They completely change the way you see movies, especially horror films. Also art has a way of creating certain emotions. I have formed an opinion and that is that art is not a waste of time. I found many connections between the two texts. Southan I think believes art is important as well because he ends his essay saying that he is going to continue to write. So he ignored the EA’s opinion and is doing his own thing. Obviously Kaphar believes art is important as well. It can show us many details on the past and how civilization was, but also can show us how we are today.
