Reading the works of others can be very helpful in giving a lot of insight into your own work. During the peer review I learned a lot. For me it is very helpful to step away from my own writing and read someone else’s. It gave me the chance to see how others format their paper, and read different points and arguments that I had not thought of before. I agree that it can help strengthen your own work.
